Where and how can I use art that I've commissioned from you?
Where and how can you use the art that I've commissioned from you?

Can I use your images for my website/journal?
If it's for your website, I would really prefer not. If it's for your blog/journal, I don't mind, but I would appreciate a link back to this site.

Can I use your images for a forum avatar/sig/etc?
Absolutely :) since avatars are usually just a display of fandom, I am delighted to see someone using my art as their avatar. If someone asks where you got it, just be sure to point them my way ;).

How can I keep track of when your site updates?
The blog on the frontpage is really your best bet as far as updates are concerned.

Will you draw me something?
You can find out more about getting art from me at my commissions page. Unfortunately I don't have time to do requests for free.

Want to do an art trade?
Generally, no, but contact meand we'll see.

Want to do a link exchange?
Sure! As long as the site is somehow remotely related to this one and it doesn't contain anything ridiculously offensive or harmful. Contact.

Can I draw your characters (fanart)?
Absolutely! Fanart makes my little heart swell with joy :) :)! Just make sure that you have a little note wherever your drawing is displayed that the characters are (c)Spikecomix, and also please be sure to email me so I can see it!

What is art theft?
Art Theft is defined as taking an artist's work and using it for one's benefit without notifying the artist or giving proper credit. This includes, but is not limited to, taking images from this site, removing the signature, and using it on one's site or products, reproducing the images (tracing/copying) shown on this site and claiming it as one's own, or selling and reproducing my art without my express written permission. There's an excellent network of people out there who can recognize each other's styles and when we catch art thiefs, it's not pretty. Don't do it. If you find someone that you think is an art thief, please let me know.

I think I saw your work somewhere else and you weren't credited…?
I'm glad you found me, then. First, please head over to this disambiguity page to make sure it's not one of my alternate galleries. If it's not there, then please email me and let me know where this person is. Thank you so much!

Where and how can I use art that I've commissioned from you?
The rights you have to artwork that you have commissioned are determined in the initial email negotiation. However, if you do not mention any intended use, it is assumed that you are commissioning work for PERSONAL USE. In this case, you are only allowed to display it on your personal gallery with credit back to me, or in your home. You are not permitted to reproduce it for any purpose other than personal home display. You are not permitted to sell this work or use it on something you are selling. You are not permitted to claim it as your own, or the property of your company. If you wish to do any of these things, they must be negotiated before the final price is set.

Where and how can *YOU* use art that I've commissioned from you/ who owns the rights to commissioned works?
I retain the right to use any art commissioned from me in my commission gallery, with credit back to the owner for the characters, where applicable. If the commissioned work is of a generic nature (an elf, fairy, horse, dragon…etc.) or if it is of one of my characters, I reserve the right to reproduce, distribute and sell the artwork.
